San Miguel de Allende, Mexico
In 2013, Conde Naste rated San Miguel de Allende the #1 city in the world!
Conde Naste Traveler wrote,
San Miguel de Allende nabbed the No. 1 spot thanks to its 'great atmosphere, excellent restaurants, culture and ambiance galore.' The 'lack of street lights and billboard's makes the region romantically and historically beautiful, and the city itself offers a 'traditional feeling of a small town in the heart of Mexico'.... An amazing place to be.

Hajjar Gibran is a social entrepreneur and the son of an inventor. He grew up attending the annual Inventor’s Congress with his father. He studied engineering at SDSU. In his 20s he designed and built passive solar home and won several design awards through the Nova Scotia Design Council. In his 30's, he started Life Designs, a company responsible for the preservation of 25,000 acres of virgin rainforest in partnership with Rainforest Action Network.
Hajjar is the author of The Return of The Prophet, the award winning sequel to The Prophet by his great uncle Kahlil Gibran. While creating The Gibran Center in Thailand (a volunteer sustainable living experiment), Hajjar developed an innovative way of building low cost domes. Thanks to his collaboration with his friend Steve Areen, they have gained international recognition. The demand is so great that he dedicated himself to inventing the equipment necessary to make them available around the world.
Gregory Boyer, PhD has enjoyed two intertwining careers - in international development with focus on public health (mostly in Africa) and fair trade, and in the transformation of leaders and organizations. During the past five years, Gregory has road-tripped with young cultural creatives and visited the world’s first vertical farm, over 20 ecovillages and co-housing communities, and seven aquaponics production facilities. In addition to management consulting, Gregory sells commercial-scale aquaponics systems, and brokers hemp/CBD seed and support services to farmers. He is mobilizing resources for the development of generative farming communities, with embedded training institutes.
Kari-Lise Boyer is a spirited young woman who constantly strives to work with purpose for the planet and its people. During her third year studying Horticulture Business Management at Colorado State University, Kari-Lise traveled around the world with a close friend. The two of them WWOOFed on organic farms in 12 countries in 6 months. The trip included a two-week visit at Hajjar Gibran's beautiful sanctuary in Thailand where she enjoyed staying in Hajjar's magnificent domes. With the rich experiences of extensive travel, community, permaculture, and play, Kari-Lise is actively participating in the regenerative new world movement.
