Tulum is an enchanting beach town full of zest and adventure and is abundant with warm-hearted smiles. Wonder the local markets, people watch as you enjoy a fresh meal, or dive right into life by swimming in one of the many local cenotes. There is so much divine beauty to explore and experience in this sweet piece of paradise!
Nested in between the Mayan Jungle and the crystalline waters of Soliman Bay beach and only 7 min driving north from the Bohemian Town of Tulum stands Nahku, surrounded by sparkly Cenotes and impressive Caves in what is known as the lower Mayan Jungle, this location is a cultural treasure of bio-diversity and a vortex of Ancestral Wisdom.

Workshop Learning Objectives

  • ​Learn our methods of building a dome home that is fire and rot resistant, insulative, sustainable, strong and durable against the forces of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.
  • Work in a friendly and respectful team setting to co-create under the guidance of our instructors
  • Work with power tools, hand tools and construction materials and equipment
  • Build archway forms and a round window form
  • Mix Aircrete with Domegaia's unique tools - Aircrete is an amazing, material that you can make yourself at home - almost as easily as making pancake batter!
  • Stack bricks with our mortar recipe to construct a dome using a compass arm
  • Build a round, sit-in window
  • Build a custom wooden door
  • Apply reinforcement fabric-mesh with stucco
  • "Classroom" exercises and discussions
    • Topics: Foundation pouring, compass arm assembly, skylight ideas, window installation, door and door jam construction & installation
  • We will offer an inspirational and informative slideshow presentation and dedicated Q&A time!

*Please Note: During the 10-day workshop, we will build a basic dome structure.  Instruction includes the fundamentals of pouring, stacking and structural reinforcement of the dome but does not include plumbing, electrical or finishing installations.  We will do our best as a team to complete the Aircrete dome during the workshop; however, we do not guarantee completion.  Unexpected obstacles such as adverse weather conditions, for example, may affect our progress and prevent the dome’s full completion.  ​

​We will plan one afternoon off or full day off (depending on our rate of progress) for students to rest and enjoy local attractions!

Our hosts will be offering a few onsite accommodations including three private dome suites and space for tent and camping.  Space is limited so please reach out to our hosts to inquire about pricing and availability.

A hearty and nutritious meal plan will be available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ingredients are sourced from our garden and local farms as much as possible and meals are made from scratch with love. Please contact our hosts to express your interest in participating in the meal plan and to communicate any dietary restrictions. You do not have to stay on-site to take advantage of this meal plan, any and all are welcome!

Transportation Options

  • Rental cars (parking will be available on property)
  • Aidan and his team will kindly be providing a shuttle service from and to the Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City for $40-60 each way (depending on number of sign-ups) on September 4th and 16th. They will do one pick up on the 4th at 5:00pm and a drop off on the 16th at 9:00am, so please plan your flight accordingly and book your spot with them before.

Cancellation Policy

  • Those cancelling more than 4 weeks prior to the first day of the workshop will receive a full tuition refund, minus a 7% processing and administration fee.
  • Those cancelling 2 - 4 weeks prior to the first day of the workshop will receive a half tuition refund, minus a 7% processing and administration fee.
  • No refunds for cancellation requests made less than 2 weeks prior to the first day of the workshop.
  • ​​If the workshop has to be cancelled for any reason, you will receive an immediate full refund.
